Receiving Benefits

In general, amounts in your account are available at retirement age or when you become disabled, die or in certain situations. Because the Plan is meant for long-term savings, early withdrawals  are generally not allowed, except in certain situations or if you have a severe financial hardship. If the withdrawal is approved, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) may assess a penalty in addition to regular taxes due. Contact the Fund Office for details.

REMINDER: You may withdraw part of your money early in certain situations. Before deciding to withdraw contributions, consult with a financial expert and compare the short- and long-term impact of early or hardship withdrawals versus other alternatives.
